RetroTek-D Front Mounted Dynamic Retroreflectometer System
The RetroTek-D is transforming pavement marking surveys for Road Agencies, Survey Contractors, Road Profilers and Striping Contractors. This innovative system measures the retroreflectivity (mcd/m²/lux) across the full lane width in a single pass, with the same level of accuracy as handheld units, certified to ASTM E1710, E3320 and EN 1436. It is an essential tool in recording retoreflectivity data while preparing for MUTCD retoreflectivity compliance and managing the quality of pavement marking restriping.

Operate safer surveys with our secure front mounted retroreflectivity measurement unit that is designed to be safer for operators and other road users. No awkward side protrusions from the survey vehicle and no need to continually check if the retroreflectometer has dirt on the lens from the survey vehicle wheels. Our system doesn’t require precision driving near the longitudinal stripes and has been designed to ensure minimal operator intervention with the survey screen, leaving the driver to focus on the road ahead.

Operational day or night, it records the night-time retroreflectivity visibility and day-time contrast ratio of pavement marking stripes, safety-critical in-lane center markings and symbols at normal traffic speeds. The pavement marking mobile retroreflectometer unit also records the absence and presence of reflective pavement markers (RPMs) / road studs. As a result, it maximises the retoreflectivity data collection in one survey run and reduces survey costs by up to 50%.

Coupled with our powerful QuickView-Pro survey visualization reporting software, we ensure simple and fast survey processing. You can rapidly see colored threshold results mapped with GPS tagged videos for more efficient reporting to assist with pavement marking maintenance planning. Our software facilitates batch processing of surveys for faster vizualisation of results and pinpointing pavement marking failures.
