We are delighted to announce the latest release of our QuickView-Pro survey reporting platform with 5 valuable new features added. These new improvements will make retroreflectivity surveys more efficient and user friendly for survey operators, survey data processers and maintenance planners.
RetroTek QuickView Software V3.2.0
Release Notes 26th March 2025
We review our customers comments from annual questionnaires and take on board any suggestions for improvements or enhancements with the RetroTek-D system and the QuickView-Pro survey results platform. This guides us to develop new features that will make the operation of the system and software more efficient and user friendly for the RetroTek operators, survey data processers and maintenance planners.
In 2023/24 we introduced the following Enhancements & New Features:-
• Color camera for HD colour video playback.
• Automatic detection of line colour – white & yellow. No manual input required.
• Automatic identify skip/continuous & double line combinations. No manual input required.
• New algorithms to improve faded line detection & false readings.
• New Quick Calibration process when in the field.
• Wireless tablet/Surface-Pro to facilitate quick calibration within minutes.
• Vehicle RetroTek storage box for vehicle storage when not in use.
• Quick Release Bracket to allow RetroTek to be removed & fitted in minutes.
Now In 2025 we have introduced more exciting innovations in the QuickView-Pro reporting software platform, as detailed below:
Avoid expensive, time-consuming legal claims following road traffic accidents where the plaintiff cites the condition of pavement markings.
QuickView-Pro New Feature
Why it was done?
Benefits to Customers
Quick Report:
Provides an automatic single page summary of the survey at the end of a survey run before leaving the survey site.
Operators want to validate the data collected before leaving the survey site. It is now more convenient for survey operators to get early visibility of headline survey results providing an overview of failed markings.
- Instantaneous quick overview of the survey completed showing charts of RL values left and right processed into 0.1 mile (or 100m) slots.
- Includes pass/fail thresholds for each line to highlight performance of the lane surveyed.
- Provides a quick overview of the failed lane miles along the survey route.
- No operator intervention required and no copying or processing of data needed.
Multiple Threshold Bands:
Increases the maximum number of RL threshold bands from the existing 4 to 8 threshold color bands for processing.
Some projects require more threshold bands than QuickView-Pro’s existing maximum of 4.
- Instead of limiting customers to 4 colors – Red/Yellow/Green/Blue thresholds, they can now apply up to 8 thresholds bands. Easily configurable using the QVPro import presets option, and completely backwards compatible with existing surveys.
- Provides users with finer result grading and enables easier interpretation of results.
Material Quantity Calculator:
Enables survey maintenance planners to get an estimate for the cost of repair/restriping for Left and Right road pavement markings based on the results of a RetroTek survey.
The Material Quantity calculator will provide an estimate for failed slots (1/10th, mile) and the total cost of restriping as well as calculate the cost on the basis of a per slot, a rolling mile or a fixed mile.
- This feature will provide striping planners with a quick and accurate cost estimate for restriping a road based on the user inputted material cost , line width and the retroreflectivity thresholds set.
Survey Splitter:
This feature enables one Survey to be split into multiple smaller survey files.
This allows the RetroTek operator to survey multiple roads in one continuous survey without stopping and having to input new road parameters and restart for each road. This allows one survey to split up into multiple smaller survey files for processing with correctly identified road names etc.
- This will save operators & data processors considerable time and importantly increase safety, by reducing stopping/starting on busy roads, and eliminating the risk of operators entering data while driving or having to pull over in the vehicle . It will enable operators to split a survey into smaller surveys and label them with correct road name, direction etc., afterwards before processing.
Tiger Tails Contrast Line Reporting:
Tiger Tails are now processed and reported in CSV files.
Tiger tail striping enables the visibility of lane lines as they stand out from the lighter colored pavement surface with a white line directly followed by a black line. This provides contrast for white line to black line, black line to road and white line to road.
- Provides information on the quality of the contrast or day visibility of markings for drivers and assist in assessing the day visibility of the line markings for the safe operation of ADAS & Autonomous Vehicles.
Please contact us if you require more information or a demonstration of these new features.
