Our installation engineer was delighted to support our new German customer PBS Berlin onsite with the setup of their RetroTek-D, including installation to the vehicle, calibration and operator training. After demonstrating how quickly the unit can be securely attached to the survey vehicle, we setup the calibration system in a workshop bay and completed the pre-survey calibration checks. Then it was onto an autobahn to familiarise the survey operator with completing survey runs with their new retroreflectometer system.
Having used other side mounted retroreflectometer equipment where the driver had to focus on their proximity to the line markings to ensure the results were being captured correctly, they found the RetroTek-D system much less demanding as it only required normal lane driving and was a lot safer to operate.
Back at the workshop we provided Operator Training on the QuickView-Pro survey results software and how to process survey files and analyse results. Now our customer is ready to provide a valuable survey service to Road Agencies and Contractors across Germany and neighbouring countries.
